Se Cathedral

Se Cathedral is one of the many ancient structures in Goa. The architecture is a splendid combination of Portuguese-Gothic style with a Tuscan exterior and Corinthian interior. This chapel, dedicated to St. Catherine stands as a living monument to the conquest of Goa by Alburquerque. You will see a statue of Our Lady as you enter the chapel. You will also find yourself marveling at a beautiful altar dedicated to St. Catherine upon which stands another statue of Our Lady of Peity.

Mahalsa Temple

Mahalsa Temple is dedicated to the Celestian Maiden Mohini- an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. She was known as “Mahalasa Narayani” and her idol has a unique feature- it wears the holy thread that is usually worn by male brahmins. The temple has a magnificent brass samai which is 40 ft in height and has 21 rings of 150 small lamps. Originally, the deity was housed in a temple at an ancient shrine in village of Verna which is now the site of an industrial estate. Legend has it that Lord Parshurama was delighted to see the magnificent temple so he blessed the place and named it as Varunapur (earlier name of Verna).

Abyss Marine Aquarium

Abyss Marine Aquarium flaunts an exotic variety of aquatic heritage with a collection of more than 60 species. Some of these fishes have been imported from different parts of the world which including Japan, Pakistan, China, Arabian Sea, Australia, Indonesia and Lakshadweep Islands. It is the first one of its kind in Goa and a great attraction for tourists. They say that Abyss Aquarium is India’s one of the most maintained aquariums with a lively ambience. Around 18 km from Panjim, this huge aquarium complex is placed on the Verna-Goa National Highway.

Pilar Monastry

The Convento do Pilar is more famously known as the Pilar Monastery. Pilar Monastry was built in the 17th century and since then it has always yearned a spiritual significance among the Christians and the local villagers there. The altar of this monastery is a splendid one with Boroque Style architecture. On the eve of the feast, there is a devout procession of the statue of Our Lady of Pilar, presently from Fr Agnel Apostolic School, Batim to the Pilar Seminary.

Goa Science Center

Goa Science Center is seeing a growing fad among the tourists. The center also houses a planetarium. Every day the center conducts Exciting 3-D Film Shows, Science Demonstration Lectures, Science Film Shows, Taramandal Shows, Cyberlab Shows, Sky Observations etc.

Ruins of Church Of Saint Augustine

This 46m high tower, whose construction began 400 years ago, saw its mournful demise in the year 1842 when the vault collapsed in ruins. At first this building served as a belfry, later on the tower’s huge bell was shifted to the Church of our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Panjim in 1871. Today, this strange structure is visited by many.

Colva Beach

Colva Beach is a secluded one and is a perfect ‘must-visit’ destination for couples as it is just an ideal place for people who want to spend some time in solitude. There are many restaurants near the beach serving scrumptious cultural food.

Handicraft Emporium Panaji

Goa is much more than just sun, sand and glamour. The state also boasts about local arts and crafts. Located within the Panaji Residency, the Panaji Handicrafts Emporium sells authentic Goan arts and crafts. The major art forms of the state include bamboo craft, Papier-Mache, woodcarving, brass metals, wooden lacquer ware and seashell craft.
